Dear Customer,
Quite often I have been asked by many customers over the years —what is the best paddle for me?
To answer that question there are a number of particulars I ask paddlers prior to making any recommendation, please keep in mind that the paddle will only assist you so much —unfortunately the rest is up to the paddler which pulls the paddle through the water, your Bennett paddle will only achieve certain "miracles" up to a point —the rest is up to the motor, be it male, female, teenager, master, elite competitor or weekend warrior.
Please find listed below criteria most often asked by myself to customers who propose to purchase a paddle through our company.
1. Age, weight, sex, height, level of ability, level of fitness, upper body strength in relation to paddlers build, arm length (i.e. short, long, average) in relation to overall body height.
2. Type of craft to be used with new paddle
3. Distance of intended training / racing program, prevailing wind / swell conditions encountered or flat water use (or both), level of seriousness e.g. elite, average, novice, recreational, etc
Is the paddle to be used in any of the following:
a) Surf Carnival sprint course distance
b) Marathon distance
c) General use for increase in personal fitness at recreational level
d) All of the above
4. What length, brand, and blade size have you used in the past, whether borrowed or owned by the prospective customer.
5. What did that person like or dislike about the paddle they had formerly borrowed or owned? Irrespective of paddle brand.
